Amelia’s Birthday

February 14, 2011

If I had to use one word to sum up sweet Amelia’s Mama it would be graceful. She was just so beautiful and strong throughout labor. And when the decision had to be made for a cesarean section, after several long hours of labor, she was still so peaceful and calm. It was truly inspiring to witness.

Thank you so much D & B for allowing me to be present for miss Amelia’s birth day. She is such a miracle and she could not have asked for better parents! Can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

A few weeks ago I received a phone call from Martha at New Dawn Midwifery asking if I would be interested in displaying my work there. I have such a passion for birth and newborn photography so I was absolutely thrilled! Below are a few of the canvases we hung.  So exciting!

Photography and birth. Two of my greatest passions. Seriously, if you want to get me going start a conversation about either of these topics. Just make sure you have all day!

That is why I am so excited to announce that the two are finally coming together. I am now offering birth photography sessions! I love being in a group of women, listening to birth stories, each experience is so unique and personal and filled with emotion! There is nothing quite as miraculous as the birth of a newborn baby, holding your sweet miracle, looking into each other’s eyes for the first time, kissing those tiny fingers and toes. It would be an honor for me to document those details. What better way to tell your story than through beautiful, timeless images? What will your story be?

For a limited time I am offering an introductory discount on birth photography sessions so book yours soon!  For more information on Birth Sessions click on the “investment” link above.

You can view the slideshow from this session here. (Unless you’re on a Mac- still working to resolve that!)

In April I had the opportunity to witness Zane’s entrance to this world. It was seriously one of the most amazing events I have ever seen. His mama is one of my best friends and that made the occasion even that more special. She was a superstar! (Her epidural didn’t work and she had not planned or prepared for an unmedicated birth. I told her it would make for better pictures anyway! Cause I’m a good friend like that!) She did an incredible job and totally kept it together. Dad was a great coach and support. I love the connection they had and the emotion we were able to capture.

Check out this little man’s dimples!

I had the honor this week of photographing a birth. What an incredible event to witness!  Such a miracle.
