I felt unbelievably old while I was processing this session. I’ve known this family for Forever. And I just can’t believe how grown up everyone is on the other side of the lens, ya know? In real life I know they (we’ve) all gotten older, I just didn’t really notice until I was looking at the images from the session. Geez! And Cody’s married. And Carley is married and a mom. What the?

Anyway, it was such a blast hanging out with the entire Skroski tribe!

This next image is the result of a very, uh, humbling experience for me. It’s a total outtake but I crack up every time I see it. I was backing up, trying to catch a moment between these two (they were playing some hand slapping game). The next thing I knew I was flat on my butt. I totally fell. But, hey, I never stopped shooting- and that’s really the important thing, right? Ha!

If only that was the worst (most embarrassing thing) that has ever happened to me at a session…

Zoe moved here from England 6 months ago, she has the cutest accent! And the most beautiful green eyes! She’s “moved house 14 times” and has been to 8 different schools! I doubt she had any trouble making friends with all those moves though, she’s an absolute doll. Zoe is an artist and loves theatre. Such a fun session with a super fun girl!

Brittany is a breath of fresh air. She is beautiful, fun, super smart, confident. I think it was her confidence that inspired me most. I loved this session!

Only a couple for now because I’m this close (imagine my thumb and index finger scrunched together) to releasing my new website! (Woohooo!) Ahem, and Brittany is featured on my site. And I don’t want to spoil it.

Looking for the perfect gift for the holidays?

I cannot believe it’s December! I am such a procrastinator when it comes to getting ready for the holidays. Each year I think I’ll do it differently and each year I end up scrambling.
Growing up we always went to the woods the Saturday after Thanksgiving to cut our own Christmas tree. There was sledding in moon boots and hot chocolate (for everyone else). Occasionally Chili. On the way home we would stop for square ice cream! Such fun memories! I remember one year I had the chicken pox but I went along for the ride. My Mom stayed with me at the car. After a while we decided to hop out for some fresh air and ended up getting locked out of the car! In the frigid air that is Idaho winter. Eventually my Dad returned with a tree. And the keys!
These days we head to Home Depot, strap a pine tree on top of the van and we’re back home again in under 30 minutes. Not nearly as memorable. We still have fun decorating though! What are your favorite holiday traditions?

Nate- Thanks for being such a good sport! I had a great time tromping around downtown with you and your mom. I think my favorite comment of the evening was “Mom, I haven’t worn a shirt like this since the 8th grade!” That one still makes me laugh. The comment. Not the shirt. Which for the record was not bad- but does not appear in this post.

In other news, I am currently looking for senior models who will be graduating 2011. If you are interested leave a comment in the “contact” session and we’ll discuss the details!
